Michel, Lane win USPSA 2016 Area 4 Championships

Max Michel shot 95 percent, and Mason Lane shot 90 percent of possible points to win the Open and Production divisions respectively at the 2016 United States Practical Shooting Association’s (USPSA) Area 4 Championship at the KELLC Ranch outside Houston, Texas.

Lane at 2016 Area 4 ChampionshipLane followed up his second place Production effort at the Area 8 Championship over Labor Day Weekend in Pennsylvania with his first USPSA Area match win. Lane had eight top 5 finishes over 14 stages shooting his Grayguns-tuned SIG SAUER P320 in the Production division.

In the Open division, Michel crushed the competition with 11 first place finishes overall.

SIG SAUER Academy senior instructor and training manager Steven Gilcreast had a very strong showing at Area 4 shooting his P320. He finished sixth overall in the Production division and took first A Class at the event.

Team SIG’s local Area 4 shooter, Albert Salinas, also shot the match and finished 17th in Production.

The USPSA has posted a photo album on Facebook including photos of all the division winners present on Sunday.
